Suitable for students with prior yoga experience and a sound body.We recommend that you have prior Yoga experience to taking this class and recommend the Yoga Essentials course if you are a beginner.

This is a Vinyasa style Yoga class based on Hatha Yoga and adds a mindful approach to flowing Yoga.

Flow Yoga classes are designed as a morning practice, HARA "Sun" to allow you to improve your alignment, while building strength, increasing flexibility and improving stamina. Longer holds and slow transitions offer the opportunity to increase your understanding of the body in each pose and more time spent working on each pose will allow you to deepen and improve your personal practice.

The class includes Sun Saluations, standing, prone, supine and seated postures then ends with a guided relaxation.

Why do we heat the Yoga Room at HARA for some classes during the cooler months?

At Hara we use Far Infrared Heaters.

The HARA Hot YOGA flow sequence is practised in a room warmed to the comfortable temperature of a late spring day @28 degrees in order to support the natural building of warmth within the physical body.

It is suggested that the invisible Infrared waves of energy have the ability to penetrate all layers of the human physical body, penetrating into the inner-most regions of the tissues, muscles and bone.

Through subtle heating, far infrared is said to boost the Immune System by stimulating increased production of white blood cells by the bone marrow, and gently increases blood flow by expanding the capillaries that carry blood. This promotes healing.

Class 1. Sunday 3/12 10.30-11.30am at SoHo Yoga Newmarket Brisbane: http://www.sohoyoga.com.au/

“The GYROKINESIS® Method Introduction: (all welcome)

In the GYROKINESIS® exercise class introduction we will start in a seated position on stools, the class format is a circle and the teacher is a part of this circle and moves together with the students and cueing with voice, body and rhythmical breathing. We will begin with a sequence called "awakening of the senses". Here students apply their own "hands on" technique of self massage throughout the entire body. This will awaken the inner energy so that your body is ready to move onto the movement sequences.

Then, the seated sequence on the stool will start with the awareness of “narrowing” which is the integration of the deep core and uprightness of the spine, we will then move onto gentle "Spinal Motions", which include all of the directions of movement that our spine is capable. Arch & Curl, Sideways Arch, Spiral Twist, circles and Undulations(waves) this is combined with various arm variations enhanced by rhythmical breathing patterns which will help increase Range Of Motion, strength and cardiovascular conditioning. These movements can be experienced for your entire body without exceeding your comfort zone.
