Bio:
My name is Trudy McIntosh and I’m a health and fitness professional. Over my career, I’ve been an Olympic gymnast, an Aerial Skier & a Cirque du Soleil artist. These incredible careers have taught me so much about discipline, perseverance and ultimately self awareness.
With over 15 years focused on sport and movement, it is no surprise that I have sustained many injuries. Ranging from impact and trauma through to general wear and tear; more recently I’ve dealt with my body growing older and not being as supple as it use to be. In a search for ways to recover and excel, I’ve been drawn towards studying and understanding the human body and I always seek out new and innovative ways to get the most out of myself.
During my gymnastics career from age 5 to 16 years I was taught the discipline of Pilates, and I was well aware of it's benefits of using the human body to it's greatest advantage. Making the most of it strengths, counteracting its weaknesses, and correcting its imbalances.

In my early 20s I was introduced to yoga. At the time, the discomfort I experienced daily was not just the result of physical pain, but from being so disconnected in my mind as well. While I have always been aware of the deep connection between the mind and body, what I had not yet discovered at the time was the power that mindfulness could unleash.

I have since been on an incredible journey, one that has led me to practice, learn and now teach yoga and pilates. Through all my experiences and education, I know that yoga and pilates is the most sustainable form of exercise for the body, mind and soul. It has helped me to make better life choices, connect with the world around me, as well as myself and more importantly to grow healthy and strong in the process.

Trudy.
